Funding Priorities
UTSA depends upon the financial support of alumni, friends and businesses in the community in order to continue to thrive and achieve our ambitious goals. Our funding priorities are shaped by four building blocks that are aligned with our strategic plan, UTSA 2016. The focus areas and examples of each are:
Access to Excellence
Offering students opportunities for educational attainment through scholarships, fellowships and programs designed to foster success

Creating New Knowledge
Attracting and retaining knowledgeable, dedicated faculty who will teach and prepare our students for tomorrow, lead us in our quest to be a nationally recognized university by conducting cutting edge research, and serve our community through outreach and entrepreneurship

Serving Society
Establishing and advancing centers of knowledge and direct services that will help address the issues that are most critical to San Antonio, Texas and the nation

Creating a vibrant, world-class campus life so that our students have fulfilling collegiate experiences and our community is engaged in our cultural, academic and athletic programs
