Robert W. Fuhrman Endowed Award for Student Research

Dr. Robert W Fuhrman was a member of the University of Texas at San Antonio faculty from 1989 until his passing in 2019. Although he served in a number of leadership roles during those years, Bob’s true passion was teaching and mentoring. In addition to his work in the classroom and with student organizations, he was also a driving force in growing the Psychology Department’s Masters of Science program and launching our Doctoral program. Bob was particularly known for his commitment to mentoring undergraduate students wishing to go on to graduate school and masters students wishing to go on to doctoral work.

Bob’s friends and family invite you to help continue Bob’s legacy by contributing to the Robert W. Fuhrman Endowed Award for Student Research. We have established this program in his name to help defray the costs students incur conducting research in Psychology (e.g., specialized software, participant compensation, etc). The program is open to projects led by students in the Masters of Science in Psychology and/or exceptional undergraduates preparing for graduate study in eligible areas of Psychology. In keeping with the range of areas Bob supported, projects may be theoretical, applied, or a combination of both, but must have the primary goal of improving our understanding of normally functioning populations.

We hope you will join us in continuing Bob's efforts to help students by donating to this endowment in any amount you can. Your support, no matter the size, directly impacts our students. On behalf of Bob’s family and colleagues and the many students who will benefit from Bob’s legacy through this endowment, THANK YOU!
